    I'd let it drop unless you have somebody like Frenchy or Ankiel out there, even then I don't know.

      Could always hope you have the umpiring crew that called the wild card game in Atlanta and hope they call it for the infield fly rule!

        No it doesn't.

        Game one of the season or game 7 of the WS you drop it every time.

        Catching it is taking an unnecessary risk.

        Your odds are already stacked against given the scenario provided, you don't just catch it and make the odds even worse.


        A more intriguing scenario would have been the same situation but you are up one run instead of tied.

        There are camps on both side of thinking there.

        Do you take the out, and concede the tie in hopes of preventing more or do you drop it to preserve the lead?
