I don't get it... Nothing against Detroit, but let me figure this out... I'm gonna leave Miami, where I just played on a World Championship team, still have a shot at making the playoffs again, to go to.... Detroit, where 90 losses is a distinct possibility? That one doesn't make sense. More power to the Tigers, though, they need all the help they can get.

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">Also, FYI, it's never been about winning championships with Pudge, Juan Gonzalez, or Palmeiro, because if they could still be here in Texas, they'd still be playing for the lowly Rangers. When your contract is up and they don't offer you a new one, you have to leave. Juan and Palmeiro turned down 2 trades each to contenders last year. Both had "no-trade" clauses in the their contracts. That's shows how much they care about winning."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Pudge signs
Hmmmm... perhaps it was the biggest "all about the money" move ever? Wouldn't that be great if those handsome and knowledgable men from "Starting Five" tackled that question yesterday??? Guess we'll find out when this week's S5 is posted.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

Re: Pudge signs
Everyone wants to say how big of a mistake this deal was for the Tigers, giving a 32 year old Catcher a four year contract, which by the way, only two years are guaranteed, because statistically Catchers tend to start to decline around this age, but we don't know, maybe Pudge will be the exception, true he was poor in the second half last year, but came alive in the post-season, when it really mattered, but i think he will surprise a lot of people, look at Benito Santiago, he has had a career resurgance after turning 35, Carlton Fisk had some great years after turning 35, and people want to count Rodriguez out at 32, yes health has been an issue the past few seasons, but i'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and show that he is still a great Catcher in this league.Comment
