I'm mixed about this. Maddux will make their rotation a lot better than it was last year, but they still need offense and I'd rather the Dodgers execs work towards getting someone with a good bat to LA.

Re: Dodgers making a run at Greg Maddux
Pitching at Chavez Ravine will likely lengthen Maddux's career so I say go with it. It's not unusual for the Dodgers to be all pitch no hit. They had a HOOOORIBLE offense in i'd like to say 1965 and played in the WS against the Orioles. Of course they got swept.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I dont think you want to trade Perez, hes got a brighter future than Maddux, hes just got more years left in him.Comment

Re: Dodgers making a run at Greg Maddux
If the Dodgers do sign Maddux, then they probably will trade Odalis Perez, this team currently will not be able to score there way out of a paper bag, they need offense, and as was stated in another post, there is no offense left on the free agent market, so to get the bat they need, it will likely cost them Perez, the first team that comes to mind is the Chicago White Sox, the White Sox are looking to unload either Magglio Ordonez or Paul Konerko, both could help the Dodgers, though if i had a choice i would take Ordonez.
the Dodgers are a team of little options, they have a gaping hole at First Base, with in house candidates such as: Robin Ventura, Jeremy Giambi, Paul LoDuca and Shawn Green, if the Dodgers were to get Ordonez then Green will move to First, Konerko is a 1B, so Green would stay in RF, if you move LoDuca than you have to hope David Ross is ready to be a starting Catcher and that Todd Hundley can stay healthy enough to be a semi-decent backup,
there are little few players left to fill the Dodgers needs, Travis Lee is reportedly close to signing with Cardinals, Randall Simon may be headed back to Pittsburgh, and there has been a little rumor about a possible return of Raul Mondesi, but the Dodgers best bet may be through trade, and Odalis Perez is there most tradable commodity.Comment
