How bout if he's tested and it comes out negative? People will still think he was roided out that year. So it's a no win situation for him.

The way Herr Ashcroft was talking about it yesterday if the trainer implicates other players including Bonds then the US gov't is gonna put them in court. It's just a feeling I have especially in light of what Bush said about steroids and performance enhancers at his State of the Union.

I would be suprised if he was not taking steroids, he got to muscular too fast!

I think the question is, do we want to know if Bonds is one steroids? The government is threatening to take every player to court who tests positive for steroids, so we may find out who is on drugs and who isn't sometime soon. And now most people are asking if such a thing is good for baseball.

While a drug scandal is never good for baseball, I think we should know if Bonds is on steroids. If Bonds is on steroids, I personally do not want to see him break Hank Aaron's (or Babe Ruth's) home run mark. I don want the all time home runs leader to be a guy widely known to be juiced up, its bad enough the all time hits leader is banned from the game. If it comes out he is on steroids, the outrage and backlash he receives from fans and from media may prompt an early retirement to preserve those records.

I think it's highly possible. MLB has been under fire the last few yrs for a multitude of reasons but something like this would be a huge blow. People would then be asking if Mark McGwire was juiced up when he brought people back into the game etc etc. There may be a push to segregate records into two categories:
