So long as the Yankees don't make a rediculous trade for one of Oakland's big three I still like the Sox because of their pitching staff. Williams and Giambi are both on the decline and ARod doesn't hit well against Boston. And if someone gets hurt in New York they have no depth, unless you count infinitly deep pockets as depth.

How is Giambi on the decline. His avg. was down but he still hit 41 bombs and had 100+ RBI.

And of the 41, only 15 came after the All-Star break, and he only drove in 34 runs after the All-Star break. He'll be expected to play first base and I don't think he can. He couldn't even hit a high fastball in the second half of the season because his knees were so messed up. And just looking at his stats last year, most of his production came against Anaheim, St. Louis, Cincinatti, Detroit, Kansas City, New York, Tampa Bay, and Toronto, not exactly quality pitching staffs. He won't stay healthy, and good pitchers should get him out.

We'll see. I hear he's lost weight and his knees are in much better condition. The few games I saw him up close last year, he still had quite a bit of bat speed.
