What happens when teams stack up lefties against him (assuming he pitches at all). Have you looked at his career OPS vs. lefties? Maddux was 5th in the NL in wins last year, with a better than league average ERA. 5th starter? C'mon.

                              Comparing his 2 mill and what it will take to sign Maddux, probably more than 7 mill. and I guarantee it won't be for just one year, that makes the Lieber investment now looking very good. Hey, for a 5th starter he'll do, and heck, he won't ask Posada to sit every 5th day. Are you kidding me? He never wanted to come to AL nor NY, so why the heck do I want him now?! Let him take his Cub *** back to Chicago where he belongs, the fans will be ecstatic to have him. I would first give Lieber, who's now 17 months since he had the TJ and throwing well, and a young starter DePaula get their chance. Yankees don't need Maddux's 80P-6IP oldself.
                              I still believe this pitching staff will do better than everyone anticipates, particularly Lieber will do better than Maddux does in Wrigley. You can quote me on that. Besides, how does the signing of Greg Maddux solve our scarce of LHP? Not that I believe in that BS anyways.
