Re: I know everyone is tired of this subject but im curious...

I have to say the Rangers...they saved some dough and got a great second basemen in return, a guy who can help put runs on the board almost as well as Arod. True it means the Rangers will do even worse, but who expected them to "flourish" with Arod? As far as decisions go, compared to ones they have made in the past, this one most recently made here by the Rangers is pretty damned good. For a team that doesn't know what the hell they're doing, it was a good move.

I also have to say that I don't expect much improvement on the Yankees either way. When you ask which is the better Shortstop defensively and offensively, the answer is Arod. He protexcts the hole like nobody can. People, countless Yankee fans infact, have been complaining for years about Jeter's defense....yet they have a chance to move him to an area where he could flourish with less to worry about, and they keep him at short? Idiots? Yes. With Arod at short and Jeter at 3rd, nothing's gonna get through. With Jeter at short, you're still going to have the same old problems. Who's bright idea was it to pick up a second monster shortstop anyways? I mean, they needed a third basemen. It's not always smart to move players into positions they haven't played much AT ALL in their careers. True, getting Arod under and circumstance is awesome, but this one kindof has me thrown for a loop. Then to say they're going to leave their problem where it is when they had a chance to permanantly get rid of it for good? Heh....maybe by 2005 they'll wise up when they don't win jack, and put Arod where he's supposed to be. Sorry Jeter, mister "team leader", but defensively your team has the better chance with you at third. deny this and fail, just as your team has done the past 4 years. There's something to be said for spending money like it's going out of stlye mister Steinbrenner, but there's also something to be said for being completely mind numbingly pig-headed. The end.

You lost me the second you called Soriano a contact hitter. In the last three seasons he's struck out, 125 times, 157 times and 130 times.

no wonder pedro always gets so many stike outs, heck he has probably got like 20 strikeouts alone by just striking soriano out

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

31 At bats, 4 hits and 13 strikeouts. Pedro almost has a 50% shot at striking out Soriano everytime he steps up to the plate against him.
