1st in that division would be 4th in the AL East and NL CentralComment

So the Phillies just acquired 38 year old John McDonald from the Indians for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
I.....I don't get it...Comment

Maybe it'll like the time Toronto sent McDonald to the Tigers for a player to be named later. Later he was traded back to Toronto, effectively trading him for himself.Comment

I wouldn't call a team that's been 34-25 since a 5-15 start "bad".Comment

My only guess is that since Utley is now back and with Frandsen playing very well that they will send Galvis back down to AAA to get some regular playing time when McDonald arrives.Comment

I never said the NL West was the best division in baseball, just that it was a tight race
There is always going to be a bad division, last year the Tigers only won 88 games tying the Cardinals for the last Wild Card spot in the NL, yet they won their division and made it to the World Series but I guess they didn't deserve to be in the World Series because they won the worst division in baseball last year.Comment

Injuries are back!
Melky is injured on the Jays.
Good news though.....Kawasaki is back!
Seriously though, someone needs to do some investigation in Toronto, what's in the water, what's going on with all these injuries in past 3 years? It's the most injured time period in franchise history.Comment

Re: 6/24 - 6/30 Game Discussion Thread
Well Melky had been playing with leg issues virtually on season so this isn't surprising.
Not the way I wanted to see this series start. I blame the Mandarin broadcast! Just kidding, sometimes you're gonna get a stinker of a game like this from Wang.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 6/24 - 6/30 Game Discussion Thread
Was expecting Jays to lose this game, not cause of Wang, but cause of how good Lester is against Jays. Surprised how Jays offense did in this game, so sucks to see us lose despite getting 4 runs.
As long as Jays win at least 2 more of the remaining 3 against Red Sox, it'll be fine.Comment

Mcdonald could be the bench middle infielder they have on the 25 man if they do in fact trade Utley. I would imagine the scenario would be they trade Utley, Galvis starts at 2nd, they move Mike Young, Frandsden starts at third, Mcdonald becomes a bench player.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
