Steinbrenner is far from a blessing for the game of Baseball, but he is not the devil either, he is acting within the boundries of the league's collective barganing agreement, the problems start at the top, and at the top is Commissioner Bud Selig, Selig has allowed the game to become the way it is, when the first hundred-million dollar contract came across the table for his approval he should have declined approval, Selig is the problem not Steinbrenner (though Scott Boras finishes a strong second), besides, why shouldn't they let steinbrenner spend all the money he can, raise his payroll up to ridiculous ammounts, and have to pay the luxury tax, when George had to write that check for $57 million in luxury taxes last year the Brewers got a part of it, well Selig got part of it anyway, Baseball needs a salary cap, not just because of Steinbrenner, but because if it's not George it would be someone else.
