    This has been disturbin me...

Who the hell anointed alex rodriguez "THE BEST PLAYER IN BASEBALL"? all the speculation aside about roids and thg, bonds is the hands down best player in baseball. to be able to play at the level he has and he has 11 years on pay rod. and just think of the players he has had around him even in texas. oh he didnt have any because he sucked all the money down. bonds has never had anyone the likes of gonzales as far as a legitimate power hitter around him and kent dont count. he was benefiting off hitting behind bonds. when a rod is damn near 40 and leads his league in batting average, slug percentage, on base percentage, and the other countless records and numbers bonds has put up, maybe then. bonds may be an a hole to the media and whatever, but we are lookin at the modern day ruth, or should we say ruth was the bonds of his generation?

may sound stupid to some people but i dont think anyone can be designated "the best" cause anything can happen.

bonds is the BEST HITTER in the game, and he may be the best player, but a-rod is a more complete package because of his offense and defense and plus he has a bit more speed

I beleive there is not a best or the greatest in baseball. Because there have been so many players over the years who could be called the greatest in baseball. All that greatest/best stuff is just media hype.

I also don't like A-Rod being called the "best player in the game" to me that honour belongs to Barry Bonds until there is proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's roided up. Bonds was a better defensive player in his prime then most other players and while he isn't as great defensively as he used to be he still can pull out a defensive gem.

Bonds has also done more in terms of leading his team than A-Rod ever has.

#2 on my list is Pujols and A-Rod is 3rd.

Absolutely. Barry Bonds is, hands DOWN, the best player in baseball today. ARod is up there, dont get me wrong, probably behind Bonds, but Bonds strikes fear into pitchers that ARod doesnt really do. Who else commands the special attention that Bonds does? Bonds is what, 38? And he's putting up amazing numbers still. He's racking up those MVP's like its nothing, and is well on his way (barring injury), to breaking Hank's record. He's the only one to hit 500 homers and have 500 stolen bases. Hell, Bonds might not only be the best in the game today, I think when all is said and done, he could be viewed as one of the best ever, and by one of, I mean top 5. The guy is an amazing specimen. Scary thing is he's still going strong, even when he's pushing ages. He can still play defense w/ the best of them. Just amazing.
