Yeah, it would be a shame, especially with Smoltzie closing in on the all time saves record.

If it happens, it happens... I'll come back to the game.

        Re: Countdown to strike...

went to the rockies game last night, I guess that could be the last game at coors field this year or something. Not sure about the schedule. Pretty cool seeing Bonds hit 3 homers. Seems everytime I go to see someone, they do something that game. When I saw McGwire play, he hit one out. Ditto Sosa, Griffey, and now Bonds. Guess I just get lucky with this.

I hope they don't strike. It really wouldn't be good for anyone involved, the players, the owners and the fans. I can't see what anyone would gain out of it.

Honestly, I just don't care any more. I guarrantee that if they go on strike, I will not go to a single game in at least 2003 or 2004. Screw 'em.

It's is unfare for teams like the streaking Twins, Angels, 'Stros, Phillies (kind of) and San Fran. At least i got 2 games in, we won 1 out of 2 like i asked for but no reds homerun.

What is the saves record? Smoltz is close to 50 I believe.

                57 by Bobby Thigpen....in 1990.

                Smoltzie has 46.

                What a shame

I don't even care that much. I can't even watch my Yankees cuz of stupid Cablevision. Its to hard to be excited in a season where I can't watch my favorite team that I've been able to watch all the time every other year since I was born. Besides, I'd rather they do go out on strike, and get a real good solution to baseballs problems, than to get a stupid deal in place to avoid the strike

I don't want them to strike so the fans and the kids, can still go see games and some good pennant races

but I won't miss it myself, so crank up the band, and let's run on the field, cuase this is college football season

Yup, once this weekend starts, it's all football. Both College and Pro. And once both start, I won't bother watching any other sport, until basketball rolls around.

I sure hope there is a strike
but even more importantly and which probably has no chance of happening is the strike being the end of baseball once and for all
That would make me very happy

Well, we are withing a few hours of the strike date, and no deal yet, and according to ESPN, not looking good to get one before tomorrow's games. I sure hope they can avoid this. I'm paying more attention to football now, but I still want to see the Braves get a chance to win the Series. I've read the articles, but I still don't see what the players have to gain by going on strike.

I'm so sick and tired of baseball and this old song and dance of strike or not. I hope they strike, I hope they are forgotten by the majority of the fans, I hope attendance goes into the $hitter, and I hope baseball dies a permanent death. I am soooo damn sick of this baseball strike. Let em strike, the greedy bastards! (on both sides)!!!
