Maybe not steroids, per se, but it is possible that Human Growth Hormone or even a steroid precursor could be responsible for his "before" look. He looks positively waifish, now... Does seem a tad too convenient though, don't you think?

Re: A new Giambi (56k warning)
I remember last spring right before spring training hearing how the players union could forsee that mandatory drug testing would be in the near future and players were getting off the juice ahead of time to avoid any problems.
The story (I don't remember if it was local or ESPN) said to look to see if power numbers went down......well they did. Now I hear Barry talking about the 'softer' ball. LOL HAHAHA that's very funny.
I would look for HR totals to stay at a more normal rate from now on cuz the heat is just tooo hot right now.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: A new Giambi (56k warning)
Kind of reminds me of how Klesko looked last year. He was huge in 2002, but when I saw him at the start of last year it was very noticable how much he had slimmed down. I'm sure losing the weight in both of their cases has something to do with staying healthier throughout the year.Comment

Re: A new Giambi (56k warning)
Normally people show up for spring training heavier than normal and lose weight as the year goes on, that certainly is not the case here. I'll definitly have to watch that first spring training game between the sox and yanks just to see how big he looks in the batter's box.Comment

Oh, and about Klesko, not to mention his shoulder made him stop lifting weights at one point of the season, forcing him to use a ligher bat I believe.Comment
