I think there is a way to go about it, that's not it.
He knows damn well that he Sheffield can't go against the Union and take a test off on his own.. Just like Sheffield is part of a union..
I am sure Danny boy is part of a union.
Sheffield is a better man than me.. I would have cut the Dweebs head off early in the interview.Comment

Hmm, I doubt it. I guess there could be, but I have a feeling that there is no need for a Union when it comes to sports broadcasters/talk show hosts..
He's just asking the questions the public wants answered - which is the job he chose. Not a big deal IMO.
Also, many athletes are given the questions before they even go on the show so chances are Sheff knew what was going to be asked and accepted it. He's probably just trying to clear his name. If he didn't know what the questions would be, he'd have to be an idiot to not expect this. In which case, he could've turned down the interview...Comment

Has everyone who is defending Dan Patrick heard his radio show. Its a little different than how you see him on TV. I think Dan tries to use the "talk among the guys approach" to entice people to give him a scoop. Its kind of annoying listening to both he and Dibble. I honestly cant listen to his show very long. Its not stimulating at all. Mostly its Dibble who gets on my nerves but Dans no gem either.Comment

Sheffield came to camp and said "test me" in response to all the steroid questions. That's convenient, since he knows the union will never allow him to be tested without their consent, which makes Sheffield's "test me" comments stupid. Dan Patrick was just calling him on that comment. I agree with him. If Sheffield, Bonds, or Giambi want the steroid talk to die down, why not get tested themselves and show the results to anyone who wants to see them?
The bottom line is, the three of them worked very closely with a trainer that is under federal indictment for distributing steroids. That same trainer has admitted giving steroids to cetain MLB players. Although the specific names haven't been released, it's only natural for the press and the public to speculate that one or all of the three are guilty of using steroids. They should expect to be asked these questions.
I think they're innocent until their guilt can be substantiated, but the press has every right to ask them about their involvement, and i'm glad DP forced the issue.Comment
