Yup, still a long way to go but the season definitely has some excitement now.

And the schedule the rest of the way is pretty much ideal. Every team we play the rest of the way is either in the division, in last place, and in Toronto's case, both.

Oh I know, I'm salivating, still skeptical, but it's entered my mind believe me, After that Boston series, I kind of have a special feeling about this team. But, damn C.C has got to get it back. He is a shell of himself to put it lightly. We need Big Sexy.

Definitely. I knew Arenado could hit, but his glove has been outstanding. Hopefully his bat comes around at the big league level and we could have 2 guys that are perennial all-star/gold glove caliber 3B's in Arenado and Machado. 22 and 21 years old respectively.

Definitely, Longoria and Donaldson are still relatively young too. Not like those pups, but man there are some great young 3rd basemen is all I'm saying.

Betancourt with a blown save. He really hasn't been the same since he went on the DL with a pulled groin.

Best contact hitter I've seen since Gwynn. Congrats Ichirooo!

Yea, but with all the injuries, and the Arod thing and C.C sucking . This would be special, this would be miraculous.

Why exactly do they count Ichiros pre MLB career as part of his stats, but never for anyone else? 4000 in his pro career, but not even 3000 as part of the MLB? Do stats outside of MLB really matter in baseball?

It's unofficial, just that the Yankees decided to make a big deal out of it and besides no matter how you look at it Ichiro's achievement is huge.

No, but he was just hitting his stride and just raking the last 30 games or so. Now he'll basically be starting over as the playoffs start...HUGE blow to this team.

Not to mention the minor league seasons will be over by the time he returns. Could be tough for him to get back into season form before the playoffs.

If you add Pete Rose's minor league hits, he has 4,683 of them in all.
