Soriano is such a terrible baserunner. He should just not take leads, keep his foot on the base little league style.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: 9/2 - 9/8 Game Discussion Thread
That was definitely a swing, but the Yankees caught a break before too when they called Wells safe when he tried stealing 3rd down 4 runs with nobody out.
Girardi should call a team meeting after the game to go over baserunning fundamentals.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Meanwhile, the Pirates or A's could be 110-0, and ESPN still wouldn't showcase them.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. The Northeast love is ridiculous. I would like for every team to get a featured game.. or at least spread out the coverage a bit.Denver Broncos

Re: 9/2 - 9/8 Game Discussion Thread
ESPN USED to showcase just about every team on SNB or on their other primetime baseball packages in the early '90s. At some point they abandoned that and have focused on the Northeast or the big market teams to the exclusion of the good stories in the league.
It's why I nearly choked in laughter when I heard an interview with Dan Shulman when Cito Gaston was retiring as manager of the Blue Jays. Shulman said that ESPN seriously thought of doing his last home game which sounded so false to me.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 9/2 - 9/8 Game Discussion Thread
I don't think every team needs a game. I understand it's ratings uber alles, and I don't mind if the first half of the season focuses on marquee teams. But after the All-Star break, SNB should involve worthy matchups involving a variety of contenders, whether small markets or big. It's inexcusable that ESPN hasn't shown a Pirates game yet.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that.
