    Catchers historically aren't supposed to be great hitters anyways but I think the O's would miss him a lot as i've heard he's developed into a very good defensive catcher and one that calls a pretty good game behind the plate. I'd like to find the catcher's ERA for Wieters compared to his backups.

      He's an elite defensive catcher, but I'd rather trade him to fill our needs at LF/DH/SP. Apparently he's looking for a contract similar to Mauer, and he's not even close to being worth that (or half that, honestly).

        He was pretty bad last year but the two years before that still hold predictive value were really quite good, excellent for a catcher. He holds quite a bit of value.

                My mom came into my room last night in tears over Murphy leaving. He is an average player but is a really nice person and I hope he does well in Cleveland.
