Supposedly the Dodgers offered Kemp to the Jays, but Jays didn't even seem to have any interest in him. Makes sense though(that Jays didn't want him), cause more than likely they'd want Bautista back, and Kemp being injured alot in past 2 seasons, and making 6M more than Bautista per year, won't be good fit for Jays.

Speaking of Dodgers or former Dodgers i'd like to see the Jays kick the tires on James Loney.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2013-14 Hot Stove League Thread
Yet during the winter meetings, the Los Angeles Dodgers discussed outfielder Matt Kemp with them, according to sources. The idea isn’t believed to have gained any traction at all—Kemp has six seasons remaining on his $160-million, eight-year deal, which is beyond the Blue Jays’ maximum of five-year commitments—but that it was raised at all indicates the kind of bold thinking GMs are engaging in right now.Comment

Angels trade Bourjos to the Cardinals. Freese is likely to come back in the deal.
Not a bad trade for both teams if Freese comes back. Cards get some OF depth, and Angels get some much needed 3B help.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Good trade on paper for the Angels though I kind of feel like Freese would suffer in the AL The Cards on the other hand have made a very good trade for themselves.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

So according to the Cards GM Allen Craig will be moving to Right Field Matt carpenter will move to 3B Kolten Wong will be the 2B Bourjos will be the starting CF. Tavares likely to start in AAA. Only way things change is if they re-sign Beltran or bring in another Outfielder. For the Angels Trout moving back to CF. I'm assuming J.B. Shuck moves over to LF or Collin Cowgill for now. Have to wait and see if the Angels make a move for an Outfielder or Possibly move Mark Trumbo to LF.Comment

Re: 2013-14 Hot Stove League Thread
Injuries really derailed his season this year and I just don't think he ever really got healthy, his bat speed seemed awful all season but I'm assuming that was in part to injuries messing with his swing.
I'm excited about adding Bourjos, I don't expect Taveras is going to be in AAA long though but we needed to upgrade CF.
Now we just need an upgrade to SS and I like where things are going.Favorite Teams:

Reading an article about the trade sounds like the Cardinals have liked Grichuk for a while, if Shelby Miller wasn't there for them in the 2009 draft it sounds like their choice would've been Grichuk or Trout.Favorite Teams:

So the New York Mets signed OF Chris Young for a one year 7.25 million dollar contract. The Mets clearly overpaid for a player who hit .200 as a backup OF with the A's. Also just looking at his stats you can tell he is a player who will either hit a long ball or he will strike out, with a strike out being more likely.Comment
