The closest Pedro Martinez got to a no hitter was when he went the full 9 innings yet the game went into extra innings because the Red Sox couldn't get a run. Anyone else remember that? Didn't he actually go all the way into the 10th or 11th? Anyway, I'd be so mad if I was Pedro.

Pedro went perfect through 10, but got pulled on pitch count. Tampa went on to win.Comment

I also remember when he took a no-no into the 9th against the Yankees and lost it with two outs, Scott Brosius (sp?) ended that.

Are you sure? I never remember Pedro doing that against the Yankees.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Hypothetical situation i cant find in the rule book
Not only do you have to go nine innings but you must finish the game in order to get credit for a no-hitter. Plus you must be on the winning side of things. Even though you gave up no hits, it is not considered a "No Hitter" in the eyes of the Major League Baseball record books. Or they can recognize it as a no no but with that nice little * next to itS.O.S Crew

Two years ago, Mike Mussina retired 26 straight batters at Fenway... the game was ESPN's Sunday Night telecast... Carl Everett ripped a two out single in the bottom of the ninth to break up the perfect game...Comment
