April 4th, 1994: Cubs OF Tuffy Rhodes becomes 1st NL player to hit 3 HRs on opening day when he connects off Doc Gooden at Wrigley Field, but the Mets beat the Cubs 12-8, with Gooden getting the win over Mike Morgan. Tuffy's three HRs are consecutive and he adds a single.
