Just a Matsui update. He was intentionally walked in his 5th plate appearance, making him 3-3, with 2 walks, 2 doubles, a homer and 3 RBI.

This is my first look at him, and I'm impressed. He reminds me of Rafael Furcal, except with more power and a steadier glove. He and Reyes are going to be a dynamite double-play combo.

Yeah, any ground ball up the middle will be sucked up by those two. Mets have the best defense up the middle in the bigs IMO. I don't know if their offense can consistently be this solid, but we'll see. Reyes coming back next week can only help.
