It'd be almost 30 years by time it does happen(2019 for the earliest). Like I mentioned before, don't see A's getting one until they get new stadium. LA had one recently so Dodgers prob won't get one. So it leaves just Jays,O's and Cubs as teams who haven't had one in past 25 years who realistically could/should be next in line to have it.

Double hosting like what NBA did doesn't seem like a bad idea though. Dodgers/Angels split HRD/ASG. And one year Cubs/White Sox split. Then Yankees/Mets. Then A's/Giants. So it'd be about once every 25 or so years instead that teams host. Gives more fans opportunity to experience ASG more than once in a lifetime.

      Pitcher A - 15-12, 4.13 ERA, 124 K's, 49 BB, Team won 19 of his 32 starts.
      Pitcher B - 11-10, 3.71 ERA, 128 K's, 41 BB, Team won 14 of his 30 starts.

Minus the win loss pitcher B is better. And win loss for pitchers is pretty stupid as it is. But the goal for the team is to win. And the team is clearly better when Pitcher A is on the mound. Am i the only one who thinks this way?

You are not the only one but those who do are misguided.

The reason that pitcher B team doesn't do as well when he pitches probably has nothing to do with pitcher B. He probably had no control over it. It is about external factors.

Plus you are using ERA which isn't that great of a stat either.

Yeah im not arguing that one is better than the other. Jason Vargas (pitcher B) is clearly better than Jeremy Guthrie (pitcher A). Just saying that the team played better when he started for whatever reason. Not Vargas's fault but id rather have the guy that the team plays better for. I do understand the argument on the other side though.

i guess you have to take into account who the pitcher was for the other team though. Vargas was the #2 and Guthrie the #4 i believe. So the rest of the team obviously would have preformed better against a less pitcher.

You have to account for a lot more than just that.

Using W-L and ERA alone to judge a pitcher is just silly.

I just saw that Ryan Madson is in the bullpen for the Royals. I didn't know he made the team. I hope he can stay healthy and have a good season. That's a good arm to have in a bullpen if healthy. Loved him as a Phillie.

See, not everybody takes the Bonds defense.

                              At least he's owning it.

Crappy thing for the Braves is that he tested positive for it in March, that's before the Braves claimed him off waivers. You'd think teams interested in claiming a player would have the results of drug tests.
