I haven’t been following this very closely, but what are they waiting on that extending his leave by 10 days is going to help? It feels like they know they can’t suspend him but they don’t want him coming back

Bauer could appeal this, but he hasn’t and isn’t. Which is quite weird also.

Instead of buying Twitter, Elon Musk should buy the Reds.

It would be much cheaper lol

Might as well buy every Ohio sports team then. Which sounds like a fool's errand.

The thing with Bauer situation is that I have 0 confidence in Manfred's judgement. Granting that maybe with evidence MLB has gathered (in addition to what prosecutors came up with) it might not be a clear cut decision (short suspension, no suspension, etc.), I don't think Manfred will ace it.

Musk should buy the Reds, keep Castellini on board, then SpaceX the Cincy front office to the moon

                Forget that.

For 43 billion, he could buy the entire AL East at DOUBLE their estimated values (based on Forbes) and still have enough money left over to buy a quarter of Twitter AND have a few billion left over.

Or, spend 43B to buy half of the MLB teams at double their value.

Sportsnet is really pushing the betting lines before Jays games now. Not a fan of this.

I hate it's emerging prevalence on MLB Network. I don't have anything against gambling or betting but because of the harsh sentences on Shoeless Joe & Charlie Hustle, I feel the mixed message is hypocritical

Every sport now is addicted to betting lines.

Its not even "They're hitting .300 with runners in scoring positon", it's something random like "the odds of driving in at least 2 guys with runners in scoring position for this game is -120" or something like that.

Sucks to hear. Buck Martinez is gone from Jays announce booth (for now) as he's battling cancer.

He's their main guy now, but has been calling games for them dating back to the late 80s, as well as having stints as a manager with the Jays, the WBC, and calling Os games, as well as games on TBS and the international feed of the WS too.

The Apple TV+ broadcast was full of that.

I have nothing against sports gambling, but I fail to see how betting lines are relevant information.

I don't love hearing him, but I'm used to hearing him and that familiarity is good enough for me to like hearing him, if that makes sense. When I watch their game today I'll definitely be giving him a last listen.

I hope it's not "last" last, and that he'll win the good fight.

Buck Martinez is one of those voices from my youth, as he provided commentary for the Triple Play series.

                              Hope he beats cancer.
