That's exactly what I mean. And I know they didn't actually change their name. But nobody refers to it as the White Sox Scandal.

Speaking of Black Sox, to think, we're almost 100 years away from that infamous scandal. I'm sure someone like MLBN will prob do some sort of big "100 years later" thing and revisit the entire scandal and everything like that, come 2019.

I wouldn't bet much on that if I were you.

Yeah MLB isn't going to glorify possibly the worst scandal the sport has ever seen. They'll mention it, obviously, but no "100 Years Later" special.

Not glorify but I definitely could see a documentary-style special happening, with some tying in with the Pete Rose situation and why the "Cardinal Rule" of baseball is so important. Hopefully that and not some crappy round table with Verducci, Rosenthal et al.

I didn't mean mlbn specifically, but someone probably would. Like a e60 piece or something like that which covers controversial type things at times

They'll do it after they do a McGwire/Sosa 1998 retrospective. Or anything on Bonds.

Yea you have a better chance of Clemens, Bonds, and Sosa to get elected by the BBWAA into the HOF then MLBN producing a documentary/show about the Black Sox.

Also the great Vin Scully has said he is done after the season-ending series with the Giants this season.

Born on this date(different years of course).....

                        Jackie Robinson
                        Ernie Banks
                        and Nolan Ryan

                        Not too shabby...
Also...on this date two of the largest contracts signed

                        1992
Pittsburgh signs Barry Bonds to a 4.7 million, one year deal(largest single season contract)

                        1996
Ken Griffey Jr. signs a 4 year 36 million dollar deal with Seattle(largest contract in total)

Crazy how in just 10-20 years, how much more guys are getting paid. Griffey never got more than 9M in his time with Mariners. Today, 9M gets you a closer or a back end starter.

Man, I hope SNET and MLB-N show a lot of Dodgers games this year then.

I know not everyone likes Scully, but man if I had to pick an announcer for one game, particularly radio-only, it would be him. Master of the lost art of smooth, conversational play by play.
