Pirates are cheap, just like with Polanco and Bell's call ups. Start the kid, he looked ready.

What a *******. And he's ineligible for the playoffs if the Pirates still somehow end up making it.

        What a jabroni.

Or making a career by taking it. He does his time and still has 40 mm to his name.

Yeah, I guess that's the other way of looking at it but boy is it ever a selfish way to go about it and perpetuates the stereotype of professional athletes as mercenaries.

Hopefully this also puts more of a stake in the heart of the whole "mashers are the ones roided up!" thing.

The last 2 were Marte and Gordon, right? Hardly the picture of power.

I'm just excited to see how Pirate fans react. This is a fanbase that crucified Braun everytime he came to plate. Can't wait to hear the excuses made up for why this is different.

I've already heard "Well Braun lied about it" but assuming that's just the start of it.

I'd boo him more for missing 80 games and potential playoffs and ****ing the team over because of this **** than actually using whatever he used.

Crazy how change is one of the only constants in this game. A couple years back an outfield of Marte/McCutchen/Polanco seemed like a near guaranteed decade of good OF play for PIT. Now, ehh, not quite as much.

So even though he's suspended, he's still gonna get those millions of dollars in his contract? Mlb needs stricter rules on that. Like voided contracts if caught. Guys I'm sure would care lots more about being caught if it drastically impacts them financially compared to being caught and having their future millions to fall back on.

Voiding his contract would be doing him a favor. He would make bank on the open market.

Yep. Even with the positive test, guy like Marte would command decent money.
