Bowden was garbage but I'm surprised Jayson Stark got the axe. Always used to love his segments on Mike and Mike.

And in positive news, Jim Thome has joined the MLBN studio team.

I can't off the top of my head recall hearing him ever do any analysis but I'm assuming that he's going to bring something good to the network.

Being let go is always tough and feels like ****. With that being said, I have thought for a long time that ESPN baseball coverage needed an overhaul and Bowden & Stark being out would be an auspicious beginning.

If you need a GM go for Hart (I think he still does part time for MLBN? Not that ESPN is adding anyone at the moment.). As for Stark I see no difference between him, Caple, Olney and 15 other guys over there.

            AWESOME!

I saw him on Brian Kenney's show as he was a guest analyst/was also interviewed about a book he wrote and he was DAMN good. He'll make for an excellent analyst there.

BTW I hope MLB hire Jayson Stark either as a writer or on-air personality.

I thought that about Sean Casey.

Casey can be a bit animated but he does drop some knowledge every once in a while. At least he's a LOT better than Preston Wilson.

Funny enough, one of the quotes from Thome was something along the lines of, "I tried to get it in my contract to work every night with Sean Casey."

Gosh, this guy is just horrible...worse than even Mitch Williams was. His broadcost on FS1 a few weeks back on the Braves game was utter cringe worthy. I'd rather listen to Hawk and Dick Vitale if that says anything.

I really do hate what happened to Darryl Hamilton; he was really insightful and and seemed like good guy.

I'm excited to hear Thome. I'd think they should pair him with Pedro...THAT would be some fun analysis to hear.

I'm very happy that Thome came to MLB Network. Really hoping for excellent hitting analysis like what A-Rod and Hurt bring for the Fox coverage.

I'd LOVE to see a demo done with Thome and Smoltz. That would be too educational for cable TV LOL

Complete with Smoltz joking about beating them in 1995. I'm good with that!

I'd have settled for a "because it's an annoying and forced thing to talk about either way and who gives a ****" but that's good too.

Jayson Stark was way too smart for ESPN. Glad he's out of there, he'll go somewhere he can truly be appreciated instead of hot take central.
