I know something about the Mets that does stink, and it rhymes with potato chip.

Then why aren't they acquiring Jayson Werth?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

An article by ESPN that I actually enjoyed (other than run-of-the-mill press releases and the rare longform piece). Who remembers Delmon Young, brother of Dmitri?

The Rays took Young with the No. 1 pick in 2003. And while he had his moments, trading him was a master stroke that's still paying off.

August 11th is tomorrow. I feel like that should be an official OS holiday.

Alright alright. It'll be back to analytics talk and Manfred hate in no time. The fun will be gone soon enough.

                  Oh criminy!

I feel bad for any Mets fan out there. I don't even know what to make of this because even as it is now, they don't do THAT much analytics stuff compared to the other teams in all of MLB. The only team that's worse than them this way are the O's and it looks like they're finally TRYING to turn it around.

The Mets need new owners IMO.

Yeah, I saw that earlier today. That's pretty scary and could be career threatening (though y'know, quality of life is more important than throwing a baseball 100 MPH)

Apparently it's been a recurring issue for him. He even had a procedure done a few years ago to fix an irregular heartbeat. Hopefully it's something he can continue to manage. I love watching him pitch.

                            Trivia question...no Googling...

...all 3 leading AL MVP contenders (Trout, Betts, Ramirez) have a shot at 30-30 seasons this year. Can you name the only teammates to ever log 30-30 seasons in the same season?

Great guess, but incorrect. Bonilla never did 30-30 (never stole more than 8 bases in a season) although Bonds did 5 times (including a 40-40 season). Same era though if that helps...
