                Saw this on reddit, went back and looked at a list of Yankees first round draft picks, makes it even more clear to me that draft picks were never going to do it. This isn't the NBA/NFL.

                    This isn't college where your trying to sell your school to a kid as a place where he can win a championship and show him banners of your success doing so. This is professional sports. Whether there is a banner hanging up or not, players are going to decide to sign with a team based on their ability to win now or in the future and they don't care about what a team has done in the past.



                    Removing a banner is just a slap on the wrist and really isn't a punishment, but rather a public shaming which I'm thinking the players, staff, coaches, and fans could careless about.
                    I don't think anyone wanted just the title taken away. The idea was to strip the World Series on top of what they did today. But clearly MLB was too scared of the negative league PR.

                            And its still just a public shaming and not really a punishment. Players and all still got rings, still got compensated for winning the championship, and they still "won" the games played.

                            I fail to see how erasing their name from a record book and taking down a banner makes today's punishment any stronger
                            I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

                            I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                                In regards to the draft picks. They should just give those picks to the teams that the Astros beat on the way to the WS.
