And then there are the Milwaukee Brewers, who are 3-1 after taking todays series finale against the St.Louis Cardinals, they hit 4 home runs in the victory, something this team was not supposed to be able to do after trading Richie Sexson, the team is hitting well right now, and the pitching has not been bad either (Dave Burba picked up his first save since 1991).
It is april, and it would be unrealistic to say that come july either of these teams will be anywhere near the top of there respective divisions, it may be possible for the Tigers to stay a float in the A.L. Central, the Twins have been hit by injury's early, Torii Hunter and Matt LeCroy, the latest casualties, the Kansas City Royals who have a very good starting staff, on the D.L., the White Sox are an uncertain team when it comes to who will still be with them at the end of july, and the Indians, who are also playing well, are still a very young team.
for the Brewers, they will probably be out of it come july, the cardinals won't play this bad for too long, the Astros have looked very good and will be there and the Cubs, even though they lost 2 out of 3 to the Reds are going to get better with Wood, Maddux and eventually Mark Prior, nd they may be okay with that, this team is so deep in it's farm system right now, that they were able to turn Richie Sexson into five players, come the end of july they may be able to turn Junior Spivey, Craig Counsell or Lyle Overbay into five more.
is it possible that we may look at the standings at the end of the season and not see these teams in last place?, it could happen, as one of these teams could be this years Florida Marlins.
