Amazingly enough, he's still healthy. He's only missed two games so far.

Overall, the Reds don't look bad. The pitching and defense (except for last night) has been better than expected. Casey and Dunn have really been the only consistent hitters this year and Cincy is still 12-8, tied for 1st in the Central. Larkin and Jimenez are finally starting to hit and so is LaRue somewhat. If the pitching can continue, the Reds may actually contend. They certainly have the offensive potential to score alot of runs.

Austin Kearns is shelved indefinitly, he will be re-examined on monday to determine how long he will be out, taking his place on the roster will be OF Jacob Cruz, Cruz is a career .248 hitter in 203 Major League games, at Louisville (AAA) he was hitting .315 with 3 HR and 7 RBI.

I read in the Dayton Daily this morning that the Reds are talking with Florida about obtaining Abraham Nunez for John Riedling. This trade would make no sense. The Reds don't need another outfielder and why in the world would they want to trade their best reliever at this point?

Actually, after reading the article again, I think it's the Marlins contacting the Reds about Riedling's availability. Not the other way around. Still, this would be a bad trade for the Reds.
