I agree. I can't even watch a game when those 2 announce. That HR call and some of their other calls are just flat out terrible.

Joeboo, being a Pirates fan, I'm sure you can agree with me on this one. Worst home run call EVER:

Greg (ugh) Brown: "Where are the cookies?"

    Steve Blass: "Aaaaaaallllll gone!"

    GAG!

    I can't stand Greg Brown.

Yeah Greg Brown is terrible as well. I've never liked him and now that he's trying to do Sportscenter HR calls, it's even worse. I do like Bob Walk however. Frattare just spews the "company line" and almost never says anything negative about the team. Although he's been around for 30 some years, I think, so I guess it works for him.

Actually, Frattare was really getting on Kendall's *** for his defense last season, and with good reason. I can't find myself disliking Frattare -- I grew up listening to the guy. And Kent Dertivantis (sp?) but that's a different story

I like Walk when he's with Lanny, but when he's with Greg Brown it gets really awful. Same with Blass. Blass and Frattare are what I grew up with. But he really plays to Greg Brown's idiocy.

Walk will be managing somewhere in the minors in the near future. He sounds like he knows a lot about the game and wouldn't accept poor play from his players.

Ahhh maaaannnn, you guys are bums. PUT IT ON THE BOARD.....I love that damn catch phrase. I usually say it with them each homer. I also love "He's gone" and one of they're old ones "he gave him.....the wiff".

But besides the catch phrases, I would say that they are some boring mofos. They just dont talk about the game as much as most announcers do. Hawk is usually reminicing about the 60s and the other dude usually does'nt know who the hell he's talking about. They have to many moments of silence that make you seem like you'r really sitting at the ball game but in reality, you know you're not.

I mean if I compare them to Skip Carey and Steve Stone, not even a fair comparison. The Cubs announcers sound 40 times better. But one thing I'll admit is, that Hawk does have some nice catch phrases.
