I'm not high on Fogg and never have been. There's just nothing in his arsenal that makes me believe he's a major league caliber pitcher. I'm just glad to know that this is most likely his last year in the starting rotation...

Don't be so hard on him, he just ran into the Cubbie machine...
Nah, seriously. He's a flyball pitcher, and that wind was terrible today. On a normal day he woulda been fine. Give him some time....PSN: JISTIC_OS

You have a point, but what concerns me is that he was good his first year. Since then he hasn't been. I'm worried that the league has caught onto how he pitches and sets up hitters, but Fogg hasn't adjusted to the league. Maybe he's a slow learner, but it has been 2 years or so.
His time is running short because the Pirates have 2 or 3 young guys in the minors ready to break into the starting rotation. They just need some more experience down in the minors and will most likely arrive sometime this year (Sean Burnett and John Van Benschoten are 2 that come to mind).Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL JOSH FOGG is terrible thread
I agree he needs to show something this year. Fogg isn't a strike out pitcher. He tries to win with his defense. However he does give up the longball. The good news is that he doesn't walk many batters either. I think that if he can at least get his ERA into the low 4's by the end of the season there is hope. However if he stays in the mid 5's or higher again, he may have to go.
And I don't think the bullpen would really work for him either cuz righties hit .300 against him and lefties an astounding .400!PSN: JISTIC_OS
