Remember what I said about Gagne earlier in the year..Question is or actually 2 questions, is he enough & whether Jays would like him?

It would make a nice headline but we already have two guys who are closer material in Speier and Lopez. We really need starting pitching so while it may look nice PR wise it wouldn't happen.

I remember a few yrs ago when there were rumours of the Jays getting Larry Walker from the Rockies. That would've been a good move back then as he was still productive and healthy and would give a good headline in the paper.

Gagne would be nice but he's not what we need.

Delgado is currently batting .119 and everyone is booing him. As soon as he gets on a roll that's when they should trade him and yes I WANT EDWIN JACKSON! I've heard good things bout him.

a nice young rotation with Halladay, Lilly, a couple of our young guys and Jackson would be DEVASTATING.

Depodesta should be shot if they deal Jackson for a 1 year rental in Delgado. It would be pointless to deal a potential ace for a player than could potentially only be there for 6 months.

I agree, unless they were sure they were going to re-sign him.

Trust me,Shawn Green would pressure management to re-sign him.Green and Delgado are as close as ghey lovers(jk). But seriously they were really good friends in Toronto and i even heard that Delgado was the best man for green at his wedding.

As for Gagne.I'd love to get him, althought lke you said Sportsman,we've got Speier who's been pitching well.Lopez i'm not too high on especially after he lied about his age.If we could get a dominant closer that would move Speier to Middle Relief or Setup and makes or 'Pen much stronger. But yes, the starting pitching is bad.

                  Re: Delgado wearing Dodger blue?

Vince you're right about Delgado and Green. That would be a sad thng to see if Delgado does go to LA and they tear it up. I'll think about how Cito screwed things up and made Green want to leave.

I like Lopez, not because he lied about his age. A lot of players have done that recently so really you can't blame him. He still has a young "baseball" arm so it's not like he's a guy like El Duque who's been pitching for God knows how long.

I'll post from the Dodger's POV (ok, MY POV)...

At the beginning of the season, we were really looking at Delgado. Fans were begging for a bat, and figured Delgado would be it. When DePodesta picked up Milton Bradly, the talks died down. Personally, I better not see Edwin Jackson leave - especially for a player that may not be long term, like Delgado.

On a side note - both GM's and both front offices for the Dodgers and Jays (I believe, tell me if I'm wrong) are from the Billy Beane "Moneyball" school, so it should be interesting if they make a deal.

Word out of Toronto is that they have some concerns about Delgado's knee. If there is something wrong with his knee then LA probably would not take him. As a Sox fan, I'm hoping they get Delgado out of the division.
