Barry deserves his respect as a player( I don't know what he is like as a person and I care not to know him)just like all the rest.He will be the hr king of alltime unless he decides to hang up his glove before he reaches Aaron.

Really, if he's the best, why does he @#$*@ about Petco Park, it's not as big as the ballparks that Ruth played in. He's fortunate to be playing in this era were ballparks are way smaller than they were before.

I don't consider him the home run king, I lost all respect the more this guy became a prick.

Yeah, Aaron will always be the homerun leader in my book. He did it with bigger parks, better pitching, and without steroids. Even if Bonds Isn't on steroids, I still don't think he would be able to hit homeruns as well as Aaron did in the same Era.

Bonds is definitely one of the greatest. But it's tough to compare him to the other from other eras.

Bonds has the luxury of playing in a period of time where the offenses are exploding all around the league. Factor in smaller parks, juiced baseballs (allegedly), watered down pitching staffs due to expansion. Lets face it Bonds gets to face guys that would be in AAA or AA ball if there were the amount of teams in the MLB as there were when Aaron played.

Personally I think Ted Williams was the greatest hitter who ever lived, and Ruth is probably the greatest pure baseball player who ever lived. (Could pitch and hit).

Bonds is great, no doubt, but it's very tough to compare him to past players, performance enhancing drugs or not.

Yeah I know this thread was supposed to be a joke but the two people in front of him had to hit 666 as well

And did people forget the Barry Bonds that was in Pittsburgh and his early years in San Fran? He was a Hall of Famer and one of the best players ever back then. Hit the same, stole 40 bases...he could do it all. I liked that Bonds much better than this one now.

I like the guy. He's a jerk but hell, it's not like he kicked over my trash cans or anything.
