Re: 2006 All Star Game Frontrunners

I'd like to see the game in Pittsburgh as well, though it's likely to end up in San Fran.
I wonder if Philly is in the running for a future AS game now that we're in a new stadium.

I'd love to see the game come to Pittsburgh, but the fact that the stadium only holds 36,000 or so would be a major drawback.

Surprisingly that article states that PGH would be an ideal place because of the new convention center and all the parking that it holds - used for the All Star Game Fanfest.

All I can say is that I went to the car show at the convention center and while it is huge and has tons of parking, it's the worst place to park. It took 45 minutes sitting in traffic to park. It has 3 different roads funneling into one entrance that just clogs up. Not a good design IMO.

While we're on the topic of ASGs i'd like to see one in Yankee Stadium. By the time MLB is done touring all the new/relatively new stadia the Yankees will be sucky again and the game will have less of a thrill.

                        Just my opinion there.

BTW I can't believe that KC hasn't had a game since 1972 YIKES!

If everything works out the way it should, Barry Bonds will break Hank Aarons Home Run record in 2006, will likely be an All Star, and will be in the final year of his contract with the Giants,
that being said, i think we may see the game in San Francisco.

and, if the game is played in San Francisco a note to Barry Bonds: take part in the Home Run Derby, you owe it to your fans, especially if it's in your home park.
