    Building an Expansion Team

Lets say your an owner of an expansion team and your going into the expansion draft, how do you build your team?, what are your priorities?, do you go with pitching, power, speed, defense? draft young players or as many veterans as you can get?, oh, and you don't have the Yankees payroll so you would have to build on a budget.
The Marlins and A's have shown us that you can be succesfull with good young pitching, so i think i would focus on pitching and defense, and try and sign a couple of big bats for the middle of the lineup.

    anyone else?.

I would build from the Blue Jays mold.

Some young guys, a few veterans with some years left in 'em and a lot of scrubby guys while stockpiling the minor league system. Yes the team will suck for the first 5 yrs or so but by the 5th-6th year the good minor leaguers will be ready to step into the Big Time.

My priority would be pitching and speed.
