Putting aside Schoop's bomb, Tanaka was outstanding with 10 punchouts.

I've seen 4 catches ruled as no-catches due to the ball dropping on the transfer, and all 4 have been upheld after challenges when it seemed clear as day that it was a catch and drop on the transfer. I don't really understand what the umpires have been told to look at regarding some of these rulings.

Yeah MLB Network had a good segment on it. It is pretty blatant they caught it, especially Elliot Johnson's.

Just saw Verducci's explanation on MLB Tonight... apparently they have added something to the transfer rules where the player must establish control with the throwing hand in order for it to be considered a catch.

It reminds me of the NFL rule where a player has to stand up from the ground with the ball still in his hands in order to complete the catch. It will be interesting to see how fielders adjust to ensure they secure the ball out of the glove instead of quickly shoveling the ball from their glove to their throwing hand (which is the cause of most failed transfers).

Nice win by the Blue Jays. Morrow was dominant, especially early on and it was nice to see the Jays actually get double digit in hits with Lawrie hitting one out.

                1. Why does Marmol still pitch in the majors. 2. Walking Rendon to pitch to Werth with the bases loaded? Smh

Hopefully Cliff Lee can salvage this series with the Brewers.

If he doesn't and the Brewers sweep again, in this young season what do we expect of this team after sweeping Boston and possibly Philly on the road.

                      Too early to tell.

I like what I see so far, but injuries haven't played a factor, yet.

                      Can the pitching hold up?

                      Time will tell.

Wow, if that's the new home plate collision rule in effect, that's absolutely terrible. And I'm saying that even though it went in the Cubs favor.

I'll get a replay up as soon as I can. I don't see how the runner could have been called safe any other way.

Looked as though the throw took him into the base line and in front of the plate and not that the catcher was there from the start. That's such a tough call to make as an umpire.
