    Wow, this is disgusting

    Moises Alou's secrets of hitting....

    </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Alou says the secret to hitting without batting gloves is to harden your hands and prevent calluses. One of his methods might win someone the prize money on the TV show, "Fear Factor." He urinates on his hands. That's the honest truth. Alou said he isn't sure where he learned this distasteful folk medicine, but it wasn't from his famous father. And it works for Moises.

Ewww.... You'd think he'd use something like pickle juice if he wanted to calous his hands. It might not be as strong of an acid as urine, but it's a lot less disgusting.

When I'd get blisters on my hands from batting and sometimes pitching (seams rubbing on my fingers when I released the ball), I'd always use pickle juice to harden the blister faster. Burnt like hell, but it worked....

I still have callouses on my hands from my baseball playing days in high school and college. Maybe my hands won't soften up because I golf at least once a week.
I never resorted to urinating on my hands though. It seems that playing baseball my entire life hardened them up.

Damn, I usually piss in my hand to keep it warm......ummm, you did'nt hear that. But to use it for hand hardening methods is just sick. I feel sorry for the bat boy now.
