    I haven't read it and I am pretty uneducated about the whole steroid issue, but from my perspective, it looks like he's fine with leaving the game without breaking aaron's record, and maybe Ruth's, because people would really question whether or not he used steroids if he broke the record. And maybe they might not bother it if he's only 3rd on the list.

    I'm not saying that I believe that, that's just what it seems like from my point of view.

And maybe they might not bother it if he's only 3rd on the list.

                I second that. Barry "My ego is the size of the bay" Bonds happy being third on the all time HR list. I'll believe it when I see it.

                      I think Barry will definatly try to break the record. Getting this close he just isn't going to walk away. I think the only way he retires in two years is if he absolutly crashes. He gets hurt, can't play and doesn't make any ground on the record. If after two years he's still playing at a good pace he'll probably sign with an AL team where he can break the record as a DH.
