Hmm, Sori was a liability at the plate and at 2nd last year, yeah great D. The pitching this season is still in question. Mussina has been mediocre at best, and if Brown gets hurt who is in Columbus to call up? All unproven players. Contreras is trying to figure out how to throw a ball and cant beat Boston if he had to. Giambi has a bad wheel and as for Jeter, every player has a down year. Yet somehow the Yanks are still in 1st and are playing a 3 game set against the Angles. Taking 2 of 3 would be a good start towards making you eat your words. If the game revolved around stats alone then you could argue. Now take your bat and get the hell out the on-deck circle, you are being pinch hit for.

its because their pictching wasn't that good in the beginning and its still kinda shakey, and also most of their players except for posada struggled.

once Prior comes back for the Cubs the the yankees are thru - in the playoffs that is...how can your payroll be so rediculously high - practically having an allstar team and still lose the World Series to a 2nd rate team from Florida (who didnt even win their DIVISION!)...i am just a yankee ***** and a Chicago fan...

now to get to the point - the Yankees have a good team - probably the best team on paper but when you screw around when team chemistry you can only be so good...yes they are in first place but i dont see them winning their division - watch out for Boston i think they will take it to NY this year..i think NY flops near the end of the year and watch out for a CUBS BOSOX world series...should be interesting

Thinks are working out for the yanks so far, but I'd be a tad concerned about the offense with a team BA of .251.
