Crazy game in Anaheim thus far. Players hit by pitches, Trout HR overturned, Scioscia ejected...Comment

Re: 6/9 - 6/15 Game Discussion Thread
Based on one site I saw, really anything over .500 baseball from this point onwards would get Jays a playoff spot.
49-48 record would produce 88 wins, which equals 95% chance of making playoffs. Anything over 90 wins is 99% chance and all it'd take is 51-46 record!
Just real exciting to see. Haven't had this meaningful baseball this late into the season for the Jays in ages(I think since their WS seasons).Comment

Re: 6/9 - 6/15 Game Discussion Thread
There was a reasonable shot for the Jays back in '98 as they were realistically in the hunt up til late August/early Sept. Of course by that point there was a media crap storm about Clemens not respecting Pat Hentgen and then the Vietnam story came out regarding Tim Johnson.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Meh, I hope he doesn't appeal but he probably will. I'd have suspended him 8 games then it'd get appealed down to 5.
BTW his "apology" was pretty lackluster, hopefully he grows the eff up.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I'm still not even quite sure what he apologized for. The bat "slipping"? Not checking on Norris?
If it's for the bat then that's admitting he threw it on purpose and deserves more then 5. If he's able to appeal it down then baseball isn't being hard enough.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: 6/9 - 6/15 Game Discussion Thread
The way it sounded to me he was saying it "slipped" out of his hand but then admitted to being frustrated and possibly throwing it. It was a very ambivalent apology. As for the Norris thing, that was a joke as he basically said he didn't think he hit him all that hard and that Norris probably doesn't care about it. It was ludicrous.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
