Is it not out of the question?

Is it not out of the question that Ken Griffey Jr. pass Hank Aaron for the alltime HR king? Even after 4 consecutive seasons struggling with injuries, Griffey is 6 homeruns away from surpassing the 500 HR mark. Keep in mind, Griffey is still only 34.

Definitely not out of the question. The problem is that he is nowhere near as durable then Bonds is. He'd need at least 6 more seasons of hitting around 40 hr's in a row. Doesn't look probable unless he makes a huge effort to keep himself from hurting himself. Who knows, this year might be the catalyst for relaunching his career. It's a shame because if he didn't have the problems he did when he came to Cincy he would have broken it no question.

It's definitely not out of the question. However, he needs to STAY HEALTHY for it to happen. This doesn't seem too likely with all of the problems he's had in the past, but I sure hope he can do it..

Its amazing to see him already near 500 when we've seen him struggle for what seems like forever.

Unless he can find his back to the AL where he can DH I don't see him staying healthy enough to pass Aaron. And who kows if that would even work because he's hitting in a hitter's friendly park right now.

Injury prone players are always injury prone. I don't think he has a realistic chance, he gets hurt too often. He'll finish around the 575-625 mark. I will say though that he is having a great year this year, nice to see.
