Did you watch the video of him on MLB.com? Not a scout or anything but the kid looks good, plus he's built like an ox. Nice to see the Pirates take a local kid, I hope he pans out.

Yeah I did. I actually played against his older brother Matt. Matt was one heck of a hitter and from what I hear, Neil is 10x better. Unfortunately we won't get to see him for another 4-5 years or so, but he does look good.

He also WANTS to play in Pittsburgh so that should make negotiations easier.

Yeah that's such a huge plus that he wants to play in Pittsburgh. May not pay be as much which is great for a cash strapped team, also negotiations could go quicker so he may get to play ball this year. On the other hand someone like Weaver could still be demanding a number 1 picks money and may not play at all this year. Plus with his agent being Scott Boras it could be a long time before a deal is reached with Weaver and the Angels.

Well, my buddy K.C. Herren got drafted in the 2nd round by the Texas Rangers, the team he told me a week ago he would want to go to more than any...

Good old Karl Herren. Ha, didn't know that was his real name. I schooled him up in little league majors. He walked me, and I caught one of his flyballs right up against the cones. I could've been a star......
