    I'm pretty sure you can get a CG in a loss though, say you pitch a 0-0 game into the bottom of the 9th, but give up a solo walk off home run, you still pitched a complete game, just lost

            You can give up 10 home runs and still get a CG. You just have to pitch the whole game.

                  It's simple really, whether a Pitcher wins or loses, they get credit for a complete game as long as they pitch the whole game, so, say a game gets called after 5 innings and both starters were still in the game, they would both get a complete game, if a Pitcher goes 8.2 innings and gives up a Home Run to end the game, it's a complete game,
                  start to finish thats all.

                    It's simple really, whether a Pitcher wins or loses, they get credit for a complete game as long as they pitch the whole game, so, say a game gets called after 5 innings and both starters were still in the game, they would both get a complete game, if a Pitcher goes 8.2 innings and gives up a Home Run to end the game, it's a complete game,
