Exactly…it doesn't make any sense to me.

Except Walt Junketty, I mean Jocketty, he LOVES being THAT guy.

John Lackey is scheduled to start on Tuesday vs Boston.

Justin Masterson is scheduled to start Saturday vs Milwaukee.

I agree, but that's just how it is these days. People are more interested in team building than the actual game. The NBA is the same way.

Who friggin' cares how much trade talk there is here? It's a forum fer cryin' in a bucket. Heck..... 80% of the comments I made/make are nonsense and for a cheap laugh.

Jeez...everyone lighten up. It's a forum (fer cryin' in a bucket)

They just couldn't stop talking about Harper; from his super shiny new cleats to the AMAZING power he had when he topped a ball that happened to go off the pitcher's glove allowing him to get an IF single to his throw to home on a sac fly that was late anyway.

Clearly these guys don't debrief or review after any game.

It's not that, it's that the A's getting Lester or the Tigers getting Price makes a huge impact in how the season will turn out. A single regular season game out of 162 does not.

Trading is a big part of baseball. It's very interesting to not only me, but a lot of other people as well. It's not that we don't care about the game, but trading is a type of game in itself.

I come in here to discuss general league topics, but if I'm looking for gameday discussion for the Jays, I'll go to the Jays board (NOT the MLB.com one. That one has sociopaths on it. Stay far away). I just kind of enjoy being in a GDT with fellow Jays fans moreso than fans of other teams. I'd think it's the same for others, which would explain the traffic difference.

The Pirates picked up no one(should have went for another bench bat and a reliever), but man is it nice to hinge on every rumor and not be sellers again

People are still using that single games don't have an impact reasoning after 2011?

I guess I could have worded it a little differently but I think my point was pretty clear that a blockbuster trade makes more of an impact than one game and thus worthy of more discussion.

It's probably more fun to talk about rumors and analyzing a trade, than to talk about what's going on in a game for people.

Eh, all the sabermetrics talk and people talking down to others at times has turned me off from talking baseball at OS.

And it's a little different than the football forum where there is a specific thread for each game so when I'm watching the A's if I want to talk about that game I have to go through all the posts.

Plus there just aren't enough A's fans for me to care much about discussing the game. Me, mabster and 37 could just PM back and forth about it if we wanted lol.

Plus the trades were an ongoing thing that we could discuss throughout the day at our own pace and that makes it a different beast than the game thread.
