Nomar quote on SC
Did anyone catch the quote from Nomar complaining that people are judging him on 1 month of bad play last year and not the entirity of his career? He also hinted at leaving Boston. With Pokey Reese being a better defensive SS should the Red Sox just go for "defense up the middle" school of thought and acquire another player by trading Nomar?Tags: None -

Re: Nomar quote on SC
I'm really on the fence with Nomar. He's always been one of my favorites, but I am so sick of all of the times he NEVER comes up in the clutch when we need a hit from him. He does on occasion, but not enough. Probably doesn't help that he is a completely free swinger, and swings at more balls than strikes. He is pretty good in the field though, but Reese has the edge there. Not that I would rather have Reese start, because his bat is almost non-existant the majority of the time.
If we end up needing to trade Nomar, we might have to. I doubt he'll want to play here after this year anyways, so maybe we should get something for him while we can. But, if it were up to me, i'd keep him around and try my hardest to resign him, because for quite a while now, Nomar has BEEN the Red Sox, and a lot of our fans would be majorly p*ssed off.Comment
