    Can someone explain...

What the bloody hell a "simulated" game is? How do they "simulate" a game for rehabbing players? I'm curious.

I believe a simulated game is just an intra-squad game. It doesn't have the intensity of a real game and the game is often stopped for instructions and often doesn't last 9 innings.

Say Player A is rehabbing in a simulated game and misses 3 straight pitches. Sometimes the coach will allow the player to stay at the plate until he makes contact. Or if it's a pitcher, the coach might have the pitcher face more than 3 outs in an inning (assuming it's a very easy inning).

It's just a very relaxed simulation of a baseball game...
