What Kershaw did this year is just legendary, give him the MVP and Cy Young, it's most deserved.Comment

Twins offered Hughes the chance to pitch this weekend, he said he didn't want to. Then said that he wouldn't take the $500K if they offered it because he didn't pitch 210 innings and it would set bad precedent.
So that's that.Comment

That's mighty classy of Hughes, not like he needs it, but that's pretty good of him, I just wish he put up those numbers with the YankeesComment

Re: 9/22 - 9/28 Game Discussion Thread
My first era of Yankees baseball is coming to an end. Im only 23 years old and started watching baseball in 95. Jeter is that last link. Just makes me think about how some of you older guys must have witnessed 2 maybe 3 generations of baseball from your favorite team by now. Im not sure where this teams heads from here. Girardi is a good manager that gets the most out of his club but we just do not have the talent right now. Tanaka and Pinieda could be a good 1-2 punch, and I like Robertson at closer but outside of them the rest of the roster is meh. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Yea, I'm 24, and it feels strange, it really doesn't feel like the Yankees anymore, it's a new era. Mariano, Jeter, Pettite, and Posada are the players I grew up with, now they are all gone.
I'm coming around to Girardi, I'm not a huge fan of his bullpen management, but with what he has had to work with the last two years, he's been pretty good, the fact the Yanks competed this year is a miracle in itself.
For the first time in a while the Yanks future is bright in the farm, and I think the Yanks front office is finally getting the picture, develop the farm, stay away from big, expensive, veteran free agents, and add spare parts.
The rotation can be pretty good next year, if we can just stay far away from injuries, because it has been beyond ridiculous, every team has their injury bug, but the last two years have just been stupid, Tanaka stays healthy, were in the second wild card hunt till the end, even with the abysmal offense.
It will be interesting, to see how the new era pans out, It's definitely gonna be different around here.Comment

They are all loaded for Jeter, wow it's amazing how things play out like this.
Well that works.Last edited by DamnYanks2; 09-25-2014, 08:32 PM.Comment

Jeter looked like he was holding back tears that whole inning.
Don't think I'm gonna be able to hold them back.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
