Nasty slider, nasty changeup, nasty curveball. He's clutch in the playoffs and he looks like his old self.

And he is your best pitcher, no doubt.

He is their best pitcher. Loaiza had one good year and Buehrle has potential, but he can go into some major slumps. Garcia has the nastiest stuff on that staff by far.

Couldn't agree more. Loaiza isn't as good as he was last year, and Buehrle will probably never be an ace.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Yeah. Garcia is easily - and I mean easily - the best pitcher on that staff now. Loaiza is very overated because of his fluke season last year - I don't know where that came from, but I know it's gone. He's 8-3 this year, but only because of the ChiSox offense. If he was on, say, the Mariners, he'd probably be about 2-9.

You mean to tell me....that the Sox are actually looking to &lt;gulp&gt;..win??

Good move by Williams, he's officially starting to get sick of all the Cub fanboyism in this city and wants to show everyone that there is another team on the other side of town. 3 good pitchers is all you need with a potent offense and it looks like we should see some more "W"s.

Didn't the Sox have a solid top 3 last season?

Adding Garcia brings them back to where they were last year. They still need #4 &amp; #5 in the rotation to come through. This is a good deal for the Sox only if they sign Garcia long-term. If he's a rental, i don't think he's worth the price they paid unless they go deep into the playoffs. I give Kenny Williams credit for always having the balls to make a big deal and try to help his team. It doesn't always work, but that's what GMs are supposed to do when they get close: go for it.

It'll be interesting to see if the Twins do anything to respond to this. My hunch is they wait until they get Shannon Stewart back before they decide on any deals. They are a conservative organization, and this year, doing nothing and waiting for the Sox to implode might not be the best strategy. It should be interesting.

Last year they did not have a solid 5 starter though, it was pretty much an automatic loser all the time. Now they have five solid guys that can go out and pitch a hell of a game.

I think Rauch is gonna keep the fifth spot, Shoeney is gonna go to the bullpen, and Diaz stays in the pen also, and say good bye *thankfully* to Mike Jackson.

The biggest difference is that we don't have Jerry Manuel this year. We have a manager that guys are willing to play for.

I got a feeling that the Twinkies are working on a deal. Your right, if the Twinkies aren't going to do anything and just sit back and wait for the Soxs to impode they are going to find themselves several games out of first.

Being a White Sox fan, I'm not counting the Twinkies out just yet.
