Big time Soxs fan and once again GM Kenny Williams is the master of the big deals.

The Soxs gave up a lot for Garcia but it's going to help us out this year and if we re-sign Freddy we'll come out like bandits in the long run.

I love Olivo and didn't want to see him go BUT if you've been watching the Soxs lately Jamie Burke has been playing execellent since his call up to the majors. Yes, Burke is 32 years old(comapred to 25 years old with Olivo) but I'm confident Williams will get a catcher in free agency this Winter. Burke, Alomar and Davis are capibile of up picking up the slack.

Once again, kudos to Kenny Williams! An agressive GM in Chicago looking to win now! You don't find too many in this city, with the exception of our cross town rival Cubbies and Jim Hendry. Thank you Kenny!

Ozzie is very good friends with Freddie, I expect to see him in a Sox uniform for the next 3-4 years.


I really liked Miggy, but you gotta give something to get something. Reed is a prospect, and we want to win now!


In other Sox news-- The Braves are talking with a Sox that would involve Ordonez, Andruw Jones, and Russ Ortiz.

This would be an amazing deal that would give the Sox one of the best rotations in baseball. I would like to see us somehow get Estrada involved and make it a REALLY big trade.

Anyways, good deal for both teams

The more I think about this Andruw/Maggs deal, the more I don't like it.

Sure, Ordonez is a high-caliber hitter, but can he cover the outfield the way Andruw can? Absolutely not.

Andruw may be slumping at the plate and frusterating at times to watch, but the man is a human highlight reel in center field. One of the most enjoyable players to watch in professional baseball.

I think that any deal for Ortiz is probably over since you guys acquired Freddy Garcia. You really don't need another SP. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Yanks come after Russ now, though.

I'm very surprised by such a good deal.

We should call up Reed now, and put him in left. I read that Miguel is really really mad, which is always no fun but he gives us a catcher that can actually throw.

And big Ben is gone.
