Well yeah the easy answer is Trout but I think his point was the sky is the limit for Harper and we saw glimpses of just how good he can be in this series.

Can't go wrong with either guy.

Not going to get me to support anything Nationals, but I agree with Smoltz.... it's too easy to check with the 1st or 3rd base ump (not like they are making that many other calls) to make the check swing call.

Having said that, I can see tomorrow's headlines:

          GIANTS SWAT NATS

I can hear their announcers now: "That was the BEST loss in 4 games that I've ever seen a team do in the history of baseball."

But I'm sure F.P. is out there saying no team loses as well as the Nationals do.

See that's the beauty about baseball. If you want to watch titans battle, you can. If you want to watch those who haven't been so lucky in the last three decades, you can.

That was an awful check swing call…home plate ump needs to check every time IMO.

The Giants just play with such a confidence and ease in the playoffs and I can't help but think it's Bruce Bochy. He just seems so at ease every year during this run for them where I see other managers over manage or seem really tight.

Will be interesting to see if the Cardinals can knock off the Giants this time...

That is true we have gotten the best of both worlds. Still I want the Cardinals to just go away.

Royals and Giants: 8-1 in the playoffs, 2-0 in series.

Angels, Dodgers, Nationals, Tigers: 2-12 in the playoffs, 0-4 in series.

Cardinals vs Giants is going to be an epic series. I dislike the Cards as much as any self-respecting Cubs fan (oxymoron?), but it's hard to argue against watching two extremely tested, skilled, and 'lucky' franchises go at it in a kind of unstoppable force vs immovable object scenario. I like parity just as much as the next guy, but having these sort of rematch series hearkens back to the old days when the same two teams might meet 3 out of 4 years in the World Series.

Also, just saw the Bryce Harper homer and I haven't seen a left-handed batter crush something like that out of AT&T Park since Barry Bonds. It's too bad Harper is done for this October. Love to watch him play. He should think about Strickland as his BP pitcher for a home run derby in the future.

So the Nats won the game which Bumgarner started. They lost games started by Peavy, Hudson, and Vogelsong. Interesting.

Harper was staring back at Strickland while he was circling the bases. I hope he gets drilled next season.
